Youth Learns She Has Family That Cares For Her After All

Teen in Foster Care Now Has Five Potential Homes

FLORIDA: Marcus* is a teenager who has been in and out of foster care since he was two-years-old. His caseworker was deeply concerned because she didn’t want Marcus to face homelessness like the 20,000 children who age-out of the foster care system every year without a permanent family.

Reuniting Siblings

The American foster care system is complex. All too often, siblings pulled into the foster care system are separated from one another, causing unnecessary loss and trauma. Sibling relationships provide continuity and are among the longest relationships that people experience, and as such, they are incredibly valuable.

With Liberty and Justice for All Kids

The 4th of July marks the declaration of freedom from injustice, and nearly 250 years later we find ourselves still working on this part of the great American experiment, especially for our most vulnerable children in foster care. Despite some happy stories, often foster care results in unacceptable injustices to kids that leave an undeniable trail of suffering. Correcting this drives our entire team at Connect Our Kids, our nonprofit providing smart technology to find loving families for kids in need.

May Is National Foster Care Month: #ProjectMyFavoriteThing Celebrates Moms

Oftentimes, we think of May as the month to honor our mothers and as a month gearing up to a summer filled with outdoor activities and vacations. In addition (and poignantly for us), May is National Foster Care Month, a time to acknowledge foster parents, family members, volunteers, mentors, policymakers, child welfare professionals, and other members of the community who help children and youth in foster care find permanent homes and connections.

Connect Our Kids Receives Generous Grant from a Private Foundation

Make a Gift – Double Your Impact!
Through a matching grant, a private foundation has launched a generous challenge to help Connect Our Kids raise $100,000. This incredible opportunity will change the lives of thousands of children in the foster care system by helping us launch our pilot with six partner organizations across five states. Donate now and this generous foundation will match your donation dollar for dollar! Our Family Connections tool is in its fourth quarter and is nearly ready to be tested, tweaked and deployed. But we can’t do that without additional revenue. With this donation, Connect Our Kids will begin the work we set out to do—helping connect children to permanent families.
