KANSAS: Sabrina* was just two months old when she entered the foster care system. The name and residential address of a paternal great aunt was the only information social services had linking her to her family.
Cornerstones of Care entered that information into our technology tools and quickly identified 36 other connections that could potentially help Sabrina. After background checks, the professionals at Cornerstones of Care decided that Sabrina would be safe and loved in the home of her half-sister.
Our technology also helped us discover a great aunt and other family members who have expressed a great interest in being involved in Sabrina’s life. Additionally, the father of Sabrina’s half-sister has agreed to help her by taking the responsibility of supporting Sabrina’s family. It takes a village to raise a child. Because of the professionals at Cornerstones of Care, Sabrina has a supportive extended community to help her grow up in a healthy environment.
