Pre-COVID 19, we were piloting our Family Connections tool with a handful of dedicated partner organizations. And then the global pandemic created a demand for our technology sooner than we had expected. Since mid-March, we’ve had more than 1000 child welfare professionals, including lawyers, request access to our smart technology tools designed to help connect vulnerable children to permanent families and support networks.
Needless to say, it’s our pleasure to assist the legal community as they work to help the multitude of children and their families who are involved in the child welfare system. As they move through the courts, they deserve to have proper representation.
The NACC advances the rights and opportunities of children in the child welfare system by ensuring they have effective assistance from counsel. They provide programs and resources that improve the quality of legal representation for children, parents and agencies; support a community of dedicated professionals and help attract and retain diverse talent in the children’s legal advocacy profession; and they advocate for policies that advance children’s rights, including the right to counsel.
