Katie Adams, Connect Our Kids’ Director of Communications, delivered remarks to the City of Falls Church, VA City Council on April 11th in recognition of April’s Child Abuse Prevention month. She spoke about Connect Our Kids’ work to connect children and families in the child welfare system to their extended families and community support. She also highlighted how the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Children’s Bureau reminds us that “the most effective prevention efforts work at the community level, strengthening the family’s social network and utilizing that network as a source of support.”
